The Eagle Eye Anesthesia Story

The man to call

Ken DeCray, the founder of Eagle Eye Anesthesia, spent many years working as a pharmaceutical representative for Pittman Moore, the veterinary division of Johnson and Johnson. During his time as a sales representative, he identified a significant gap in the service and maintenance of the anesthesia equipment he sold. The company responsible for these services often favored human medical equipment over veterinary needs.

Recognizing the opportunity, Ken took the initiative to learn how to repair the anesthesia equipment himself, earning a reputation as “the go-to person” not just for Pittman Moore, but also within the broader veterinary community. Eventually, other companies approached him to lead their veterinary equipment sales teams on the East Coast, but Ken had different plans in mind.

A family affair

Capitalizing on his knowledge and skills, Ken began to purchase and repair veterinary equipment in the Southeastern United States.  He called on customers who knew of his expertise and after a short period of time, word got out.  Ken, along with his son Bill, started Eagle Eye Anesthesia in 1992.

What’s in a name?

The inspiration for the name Eagle Eye Anesthesia came from two sources. The first has to do with the ability of the eagle’s eye to judge depth and distance; track movement; and scan landscapes from miles away.  The second, more personal source is Ken’s love for his hometown professional sports team – The Philadelphia Eagles.

And the rest is history
